He likes the straightening tool in 7, more controlled than in 9. Mr H actually doesn't like iPhoto 9 (on my iMac) as much as 7.1.5 which he still uses on his MBP. Mr H loves iPhoto for ease of editing - we also have Elements and Photoshop which should still work after the update. Right now all is OK with iPhoto, but I know it won't be once I do the update from Snow to El Cap. I can't install it until I update the Macs to El Cap, but this way I'll have 9.6.1 when I need it! Its safe to download to you Mac, just leave it on your desktop until your happy all is working ok for you.
